The Seven Planets

As above, so below — each vessel finds its sphere

Moon — The Dreamer

Entry level

Silver light on dark water. You have arrived at the laboratory door. The substance is unfamiliar. The work is ahead of you. Everything begins with the Moon — reflection before action.

Mercury — The Messenger

Quicksilver tier

The volatile principle. Mercury moves between worlds — neither fully metal nor fully spirit. You carry messages between those who know and those who seek. Unstable, but essential.

Venus — The Green Lion

Copper tier

The green vitriol of Venus devours the Sun. In alchemy, the Green Lion is the raw force of nature that dissolves gold — not to destroy it, but to make it available for transformation. You are the solvent.

Mars — The Red King

Iron tier

Iron will and sulphuric fire. Mars governs the Rubedo — the final reddening. The Red King unites with the White Queen to produce the philosopher's stone. You have the fire. Use it precisely.

Jupiter — The Philosopher

Tin tier

Expansion and wisdom. Jupiter sees the pattern in the furnace that others miss. The Philosopher does not merely hold the substance — they understand what the substance is becoming. The eagle begins to stir.

Saturn — The Elder

Lead tier

Lead is where the work begins and, paradoxically, where wisdom resides. Saturn is time itself — the slow calcination that strips away everything false. The Elder has seen the fire burn low and stoked it back. They remain.

Sun — The Philosopher's Stone

Gold tier — the highest sphere

The Great Work complete. The Sun is not merely gold — it is the perfection of the substance, the union of all opposites, the thing the furnace was always working toward. You do not reach this tier. It reaches you.
